You'll join the Met's Computer Aided Modelling Bureau, a close-knit team of experts providing hugely valuable technical support in the reconstruction of crime scenes.

Working on high-profile cases, you'll use the very latest technology to carry out measured surveys at the scene of an incident. Accuracy is essential - the drawings, 3D laser scan data and spatial analysis you produce can make or break a case. You'll be totally involved in every stage of the process, working closely with police officers and lawyers and ultimately presenting your findings in court during the trial.

No two crime scenes are ever the quite the same. You will have real scope to stretch your problem solving abilities to the full, using your professional skills and adapting your approach to meet the individual circumstances.

Flexibility is obviously a must and you should hold a professional survey qualification or have completed a recognised survey-related training course. It's important that you have practical experience in, and a broad knowledge of, measured surveying, using both traditional and laser scanning technologies. Enthusiastic, confident and highly credible, you'll have the communication skills to express yourself clearly and effectively in court.
