GEO-Events become GEO Business for 2014
- industry bodies welcome new show
PV Publications Ltd (PVP) is pleased to announce the sale of its exhibition interests to Diversified Business Communications UK Ltd.
PVP has been running a series of annual events in the geospatial sector since 1997. The most recent were GEO-North and GEO-South 2013 earlier this year. The events, which offer a unique blend of hands-on technology, technical seminars and presentations and strong networking opportunities, attract surveyors, engineers, GIS analysts and other specialists together with client organisations that procure geospatial services.
Welcoming the move, which will see the launch of a new show GEO Business, PVP's managing director Stephen Booth says: 'We have been talking to Diversified and their exhibition director Versha Carter for some time now and believe that they are the ideal organisation to carry forward geospatial events in the UK. We believe the move is in the best interests not only of exhibitors but the very many professionals who have attended our shows over the years'.
The move enables PVP to focus on its core business of publishing across both print and digital platforms. PVP's titles are also amongst those backing the new show and will be taking a stand there. Stephen Booth adds: 'We see many new business opportunities in the geospatial publishing sector and with the increasing improvement in the UK economy we believe we are well placed to improve and develop our existing titles including, Geomatics World and GIS Professional as well as our new website, www.location-source.com'.
The move has also been welcomed by leading UK professional bodies including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) and The Survey Association (TSA).
PV Publications will continue in an advisory capacity to Diversified for the exhibition during the hand-over of exhibitor relationships.
